even before you start designing.. you need to get your domain name and hosting... then you can think about naming your 1st page index.html (or php or xml, etc...)
This is the first first step.. then get on the design and have fun!!!!

OR you could consider the reverse - How does typography influence culture and architecture, represented through photography... For example, back to Damien's idea about "if Miami had a font," it would be fun, vibrant, and elegant - What if Miami decided to change it's "national font" to say, Rosewood. How would that affect Miami's culture and architecture? I can see it slowly turning into the wild west. Just a thought...

I like the idea of typography inspired by nature. Even different seasons, weather, and climates all evoke different emotions, which in turn can be expressed in different styles of typography. And photography in this case, is like a bridge, connecting raw images of nature to the typography inspired from it.

This may be a stretch here, but have you thought about finding typography inspired by nature (i.e. in photography). When I think of Miami, I think of beautiful beaches and waves... the arc of a wave resembles an elegant cursive script... the colorfulness of all the art deco architecture brings to mind a vibrant typography, mixed with the rounded boxiness in the buildings I think of a smooth san serif... and the lifestyle in Miami matches the surroundings perfectly - a tropical resort with a ridiculous night life. If Miami had a font, I see it looking fun, vibrant, and elegant... Hopefully that inspires some creativity. PS - you'll LOVE Miami!

Tracey ,
Hi, I am new here and in need of inspiration!! I am in my honours year and have hit a HUGE creative block. I am studying Digital Graphic Design and normally have too many ideas that I have to reel myself in. Not this time!!! I need to come up with an honours project that also connects with my dissertation. I LOVE photography and typography and am trying to come up with something that combines the two. It seems simple dosen't it........The wall I have hit is I want to do something different..something that has not been done before. Anyway any advice/help is gratefully appreciated. FTI I am heading to Miami in a months time and can't wait to photograph the Art Deco buildings and explore the place through the lense. Hopefully this may inspire my creativity again.
Thanx
